NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Powerful Country/Southern Gospel group Heavens Highway has scored their first Top 40 hit! According to the upcoming February 2009 issue of the Singing News Magazine Top 80 chart – Heavens Highway’s hit single, “Longing to Go,” will jump from #43 to #39 in its third month charting on the radio report.
David Timms of Heavens Highway said, “We are so excited at how well this song has done for us! God dropped this song right into our laps, and we are so grateful that radio has taken to this song like it has.”
In addition to charting on the Singing News Magazine Top 80, the song has also been a fixture on additional charts – such as the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart (#24 this week), GospelMusicTimes.com Top 100 Fan Chart, and many more.
“’Longing to Go’ was a real surprise hit for us,” mentioned Chris Unthank, program director for the Diamond Award winning SouthernSpinRadio.com. “The group has such a mature sound – and this song recalls the likes of early Crabb Family or original Hinson family. Our listeners are just eating this song up!”
Late last year, “Longing to Go” became the group’s first Top 10 New Release according to the October 2009 issue of the Singing News Magazine. “Longing to Go” ranked #7 among all new releases with seven out-of-the-box adds for the song making it one of the most added songs for that reporting period.
“Longing to Go” was written by GMA Dove Award winning songwriter Gerald Crabb (“Through the Fire,” “Hold Me While I Cry”) and can be found on the group’s latest release – Deep Roots.
“Longing to Go” is being pushed to radio through Spin-N-Motions Promotions and Family Music Group. The song can be found on Spin-N-Motion Radio Promotions August 2009 compliation, cut #4. The song was also released to Southern Gospel and Christian Country stations with Family Music Group in November.
