Franklin, TN (Oct 4th, 2017) — Crosby Lane has released a new music video for their song, “Dead In The Water”. The new video features the vocal/acoustic duo of Crosby Lane, John and Michaela Lemonis, who also co-wrote the song. The new video is premiering first on the groups social media and subsequently being released to national television outlets.

“Dead In The Water” is from Crosby Lane’s forthcoming album, ‘Blacktop Revival Tour’ and will be their third album release on Mansion Entertainment. The video was directed by Mansion’s John Mathis and was shot on location at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, TN. John Lemonis actually lost his wedding band in the Duck River as it slipped off his finger during video production of one of the water scenes.. The music was co-produced by John Lemonis and Dennis Dearing and is slated for release in November.

John Mathis of Mansion Entertainment commented, “We had such success with the ‘Crucified’ video and set out to see if we could come up with something that would be as equally well-received. Although we dealt with mosquitos on a Biblical plague level and John lost his wedding band, we really enjoyed the process of creating this. These guys wrote a great song, and we wanted to help paint a picture of that with this video. We are all excited to share the video and the message.”

John Mathis Releases New Book For Songwriters

John Mathis Releases New Book For Songwriters

John Mathis Releases New Book For Songwriters

Spring Hill, TN – ‘The Songwriter’s Guide To Taking The Next Steps’ was recently released by Avid Group Publishing. The book was written by songwriter, music publisher and industry professional John Mathis. ‘The Songwriter’s Guide To Taking The Next Steps’ is geared toward aspiring songwriters who want to learn more about placing songs or the songwriter who is looking for current perspectives toward song placement.

Mathis shares insight and experiences in his new book that he has acquired through 30 years of songwriting and over 20 years of working in the music industry. He comments on the events that inspired this book, “I was invited to attend a GMA Immerse conference in 2013 as one of several industry representatives. We spent time with over 200 songwriters at a luncheon answering their questions about songwriting. The same question always comes up with songwriters, they want to know what to do with the songs they’ve written. The most common question is how to get started. This event planted to seed to write this book. I’ve spent decades as both a songwriter and working within the music industry. During those years I’ve noticed that most songwriters tend to believe ‘It’s all about the song’. However on the other side of the fence, most non-songwriters in the industry are conditioned mentally toward ‘It’s all about the brand’. That’s one step I want to help them make in understanding the journey as a songwriter, I wanted to help songwriters bridge that gap. Songwriting pursuits today involve doing something with you as it does with writing great songs.”
Chapters in the book cover the topics of building a brand, the reality of a songwriting career, when to demo your songs, thinking out of the box on placing songs and many common songwriter questions in regard to copyrights, music publishing and how to network and build relationships. The last chapter also includes contract templates necessary in regard to song placements.
‘The Songwriter’s Guide To Taking The Next Steps’ is available in paperback through Amazon and will be available July 14th, 2017 in digital formats. Fore more information visit

Crosby Lane Signs With Mansion Entertainment

Written by SGN Scoops Staff on November 21, 2014 – 1:35 pm -

Crosby LaneFranklin, TN (Mansion Entertainment) November 21st, 2014 – The vocal and instrumental group, Crosby Lane, recently joined the Mansion Entertainment family of artists by signing to its newly formed Mansion Americana label.

Crosby Lane, named for one of the most prolific hymn writers of all time, Fanny Crosby, is comprised of singer-songwriter Tonja Rose, multi-Dove nominated songwriter, singer and instrumentalist John Lemonis, and vocalist/instrumentalist Michaela Lemonis. The trio shares a ministry passion for hymns and have been traveling the country not only sharing their arrangements of some of America’s most-loved hymns but creating a unique ministry event in which many of the circumstances and stories behind the lyrics of the timeless hymns are shared in a unique Crosby Lane presentation.

Mansion Entertainment’s John Mathis shares, “Over the past year John Lemonis has been keeping me updated with a lot of the happenings with Crosby Lane out on the road. How people are responding to not only the Crosby Lane arrangements and presentation of the music, but they gasp or cry or just have these emotional reactions and responses to hearing the stories behind some of these great songs. The ones who love the hymns are loving the presentation Crosby Lane is giving them, and yet there is a generation that are not familiar with these great, uncompromising lyrics and the moments in the writer’s life which caused them to be born. John, Tonja and Michaela are introducing and educating a new group to some of these great words we’ve all sang for years. We definitely wanted to be a part of this in some small way and support what Crosby Lane is out there doing!”

Craig Adams of Lifeway Worship Resources in Nashville previously commented on Crosby Lane’s musical endeavors as well; “These folks have a deep sense of commitment to the theology we sing, as well as enriching stories behind the enduring hymns that have been anchors of faith for untold generations. Their musical approach is endearing, warm, and infectious – a refreshing retreat from mainstream worship stylings.”

The debut project from Crosby Lane is entitled, ‘Story & Song’, and will be released in 2015. Radio programmers and listeners will become acquainted with Crosby Lane in February of 2015 as they slated to receive the debut radio single. For more information on Crosby Lane visit
